The FCC has now announced that there is a new Clearing Target of 114 MHz, after bidding in the auction failed to meet the criteria for the initial 126 MHz.

Channels 2 through 31 are safe. Displacement to LPTV’s on those channels are now only threatened by displaced Full Powers and Class A’s above Channel 31.

The auction will start up again on 13 September. If it fails to meet the threshold again, the target will likely drop to the next lower level, which is 100 MHz, which will end the TV band at Channel 32 (and leave 33-51 to clear).
